Turn a folder of screenshots into a catalogue you can search.
It reads your screenshots, works out which title each one is about, and builds a library. On your computer. No account.

If you screenshot posts that mention an anime, a manga, a light novel or a film, those screenshots pile up in a folder and stop being useful. You remember that you saved something — but not what, or where.
Picdex reads them, works out which title each one is about, fetches the cover, and gives you a library you can search, sort and filter. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server of mine. You buy it once and it keeps working.
On clean screenshots where the title is written out in the post it does better than that. On blurry crops, heavy stylisation, or posts that only allude to a title, it does worse.
I would rather tell you that number than let you find it out after paying. The app is built around being wrong sometimes: a wrong guess takes one click to fix, and the fix is permanent. If accuracy on your own screenshots is what decides the purchase — buy it, run it on your folder, and use Steam's refund if it does not hold up. That is what the refund window is for.
It is built for one job: finding the titles buried in screenshots of posts.
It does not post, sync, or upload your images anywhere.
It never touches a social platform. It only reads image files you already have.
If the post does not name the title in text, Picdex says so instead of inventing one.
It covers anime, manga, light novels, films and series. Anything outside that is not recognised.
One thing: a lookup to AniList asking for the cover and metadata of a title. That request contains the title text Picdex read, and — as with opening any website — your IP address reaches AniList. Your screenshots never leave your machine, and neither does anything else.
There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no analytics, no licence check, no account and no update ping. Block Picdex at the firewall or work offline and everything still works except new cover art: entries appear with a thumbnail of your own screenshot instead, and fill in next time you are online.
Your screenshots stay where they were. Picdex keeps its own data — the index, your corrections, settings, logs — in one folder:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Picdex
Plain files you can see, copy and delete. To back up, close Picdex and copy that folder. Uninstalling does not touch your screenshots.
$10 on Steam. One payment. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no DLC. Install it on as many of your own computers as you like.
If something is broken, start at the support page — it is organised by symptom. If that does not cover it, write to support@picdex.dev. Picdex is made by one person; I usually reply within [[two or three working days]].
